End Of The Year Ride

Report from the "Hammer Head" group.
Main leader: Spanish Fly-Waterboy, John Michael, Mr. Clean & others

Today weather was the best ever in the history of the End of the Year ride. Again we managed to round up over 70 riders to start the ride and tackle the challenging climbs. A few 'Racer' guys as always but after 3R's the lead group settled down a bit for the next few miles. The ride went without incidents for this group other than some riders getting anxious towards the end and not regrouping until the top of Two Trees Trail. Some discussion was heard from riders about going to the top of Box Springs (Antennaes) but in the end it was just talk because the riders headed down Two Trees for some of the best downhill in Southern California. After Two Trees it was an easy cruise back to the Town Center.

Report from the Intermediate group
Leader: Oh-Oh, Wrong Way Rob & others

This was a large group as it has been in previous years. As some of the hammerheads tired this group picked up the stragglers. From the Water Tank and heading to the Airplane Field a bad crashed happen to one rider. His injuries were treated by Dr. Big Bike, and he was soon on his way. This caused a delay and a few riders got off course. SidePacker made a bathroom stop at the High School and found himself all alone. Quickly he joined up and all finished the ride. A few opted to go down Pigeon Pass and around the Horn!

Report from the 'Escargot' group
Leader: Phylo Windsuck & Family

This group like years past picked up anyone who fell behind from the first two groups. The group stayed relatively small and had a great time. The rear group opted to bail before the single track around Box Springs.

I would like to thank all whom showed up and those that I had the pleasure to have ridden with. We will see you all again either next year or sooner as we plan at least another great event like this one sometime this year. It is always great to put this event together. It is one day a year we get to share the trail and stories for 30+ miles. Maybe next year longer to have even more fun.

From us all at Team Dirty Work we would like to thank all.
